Play, Grow and Explore- Gaining Independence Grades K-2 Do you wish your child had more time for free play in their curriculum and less structure? Giving children ample amounts of play is needed for social and body development. In this club, students will be provided with a variety of play materials and encouraged to create their own games while working collaboratively with peers across grade levels. Students will complete activities such as creating their own obstacle courses or using scenarios to generate skits. Our club is designed to promote teamwork, creativity, leadership, executive functioning skills, We will begin each session with discussions and activities on how students can be independent and leaders in both their school and home environments. Come join us to see how your child can gain independence through play and exploration!
Arctic STEM Explorers Grades 1-3 Welcome to the Arctic explorers TEK club! Learners will explore the globe to locate the Arctic region, then we will dive into discovering more about it! Students will learn about the climate, the wildlife and the threats facing the arctic while participating in STEM projects and crafting! There will also be a virtual field trip to the Arctic that will allow students to explore the sights and sounds of this unique ecosystem, and what makes this region so special and important to people and places that are far away from it!
Let’s Create! Clay and Glass Club Grades 2-5 Students will explore, manipulate, and create a piece of ceramic and glass artwork. We will use techniques such as hand-building, coil building, glazing and fusing to create a one of a kind piece of 3D art. Whether this is your first TEK Art experience or you are a previous club member, you will be inspired by working on a new project and walk away with a beautiful new 3D piece of artwork.
Rooty News! Grades 3-5 Help create the fall edition of the Root newspaper! Students will love this engaging and creative club as they plan and publish a school newspaper. Club members will become reporters, editors, and writers. They will have options to try creative writing, poetry, interviews, sports pieces and more. In addition to the writing, students will add artistic elements to the paper such as advertisements, illustrations, and photographs. Come explore the exciting world of journalism!
