Curious Creators- A STEM Exploration Club (Grades K-1) Taught by Suzzette Acree During this fun filled, exciting club, young engineers will explore, build, test ideas, and follow their curiosity. During each session, Mrs Acree will start with a book that connects to the topic of the day. Then students will experiment with various building materials that will provide them with opportunities for teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Join us for this unique club where we will learn that being curious leads to amazing discoveries.
Lego Mania- Build, Create, Explore Club (Grades 1-3) Taught by Bailey Bilger & Sarah Young Join us for an exciting LEGO Club where imagination meets engineering! This hands-on club encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through fun building challenges and themed activities. Each week, students will explore basic engineering concepts as they build structures and unique creations using LEGO bricks. From designing weight-bearing bridges, creating strong shelters and marble mazes, every session offers a new opportunity to learn, build, and have fun! No experience necessary, just bring your creativity and love for building!
Artistic Adventures (Grades 3-5) Taught by Caroline Haw Come along on an Artistic Adventure with Ms. Haw, and explore a variety of mediums in art. Participants will create projects by printmaking, weaving, drawing, painting, sculpting, and more! These projects will be a fun way for participants to expand their art skills and make projects they are proud of! Please join in on our adventure! * Club caps at 25 students
The Lacy Lions News (Grades 2-5) Taught by Staci Pollock Help create the winter edition of the Lacy Lions newspaper! Students will love this engaging and creative club as they plan and publish a digital school newspaper. Club members will become reporters, editors, and writers. They will have options to try creative writing, poetry, interviews, sports pieces and more. In addition to the writing, students will add artistic elements to the paper such as advertisements, illustrations, and photographs. We would love to have repeat students join us to create the fall edition of the Lacy Lions newspaper!
Sports Palooza (Grades 3-5) Taught by Jeff Wilkinson Are you interested in learning and developing skills in a variety of team sports? During this fun filled club, you will learn how to strategically work together and play some awesome games! Emphasis will be placed on skills, rules and lead-up activities for each game. Good sportsmanship and team cooperation will be required and stressed. Come join the ultimate sports club that is always a huge hit! *Club caps at 25 students
