Each week, Ms.Forbes will share some of her favorite Fall books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a STEAM activity. We will read some exciting titles such as Runaway Pumpkins, and melt our homemade pumpkins, The Leaf Thief, and create a sneaky squirrel, and much more! This club will be a fun-filled way for your child to improve their reading confidence, vocabulary, creativity, and communication skills. Come see how much fun books and STEAM can be! Animal Adventures– Exploring Art and Animals Grades 1-3 Calling all animal lovers and creative kids! Get ready for a wild adventure where animals, art, and imagination come together! Each week, we’ll discover a fascinating new animal through fun literacy connections, exciting facts, and a hands-on craft or art project inspired by our featured creature.Students will create a blubber fish, make a moving corn snake, craft an adorable arctic fox, and design a bouncy bat—plus explore lots of other amazing animals along the way! Every project is designed to let kids get creative while learning something new about the animal world. If you love animals, art, and getting creative, this is the perfect club for you!
The Mahj Squad- JYJ Mahjong Club Grades 2-5 Calling all curious minds for some tile-tapping fun! Whether you're brand new to Mahjong or already know your way around the tiles, the Mahjong Club is the place to be! Join us as we learn the rules and strategies of this exciting, ancient game all while strengthening your memory, logic, and reasoning skills. We also will have Rummy tiles to add to the fun if Rummy is more your game. Come build friendships through fun and friendly competition. Beginners and seasoned players are all welcome—no experience needed. Let’s play, learn, and grow-one tile at a time!
Spark Lab Grades 2-5 Get ready to spark curiosity and ignite imagination! The Spark Lab is an exciting club where young scientists dive into the world of STEM through hands-on, minds-on experiments and challenges. Each week, students will become real scientists as they build crazy contraptions, explore cool concoctions, and solve fun engineering problems—just like the pros! Students will design marble roller coasters, engineer bridges for a pumpkin holding contest, launch balloon rockets, and take on a variety of other exciting STEM challenges. Students will learn how science and engineering work in the real world—all while creating, exploring, and having a blast!
