Bonker for Book- Springtime Fun Grades K-1 Taught by Beth Cook Are you bonkers for good books? Then this is the club for you! Each week Mrs Cook will share some of her favorite books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a STEM activity. We will read some exciting titles such as, Here Comes Spring, and create tissue paper butterflies, Bunny Trouble, and make bunny rabbit masks, The Curious Garden, and make tulip hand crafts and much more! Come read and create with Mrs. Cook!
“What's Your Inspiration?" Exploring Artists and Creating Art Grades 1-4 Taught by Madeline Stambaugh Have you ever wondered why an artist made a piece of artwork? How did they think to use that medium? If so, then come be a part of this creative, hands on club! Each week we will study famous artists from the 20th Century and talk about the ideas behind their pieces of art. Then, students will create an art piece in that artist’s style. We will explore various art mediums such as painting, fiber art, sculpture, pastel, and much more. Come join us for this amazing art experience!
Act Up & Get in Treble!- Singing & Acting Club Grades 2-5 Taught by Emily Cannady Are you ready to actup and make some treble?!This club offers students an opportunity to learn acting and vocal techniques, practice improvisation and develop confidence as they prepare for an end-of-club theatrical musical performance! Open to grades 2-5, students will form a community within the school, develop friendships between grade levels, and best of all will learn from and be inspired by one another! There is something for everyone in this club!
Ready, Set, Go Run Club Grades 2-5 Taught by Haley Milne Do you love to run, get exercise and have fun outside? Then you need to join us for the amazing TEK Running Club! Each week we will warm up as a group and then challenge our running stamina, leading up to a Fun Run during our last session! In addition to running laps on the track, we will work on fitness through run related games. At the end of each meeting we record our laps and as we work towards reaching specific goals. We will challenge ourselves to graph and record our running data. Come run and have fun with us!
Young Publishers- Creative Writing Club Grades 2-5 Taught by Alyssa Johnson Do you love to create stories, poems, and illustrations? Would you like to improve your linguistic prowess and get your creative juices flowing? Then this is the club for you. During our time together, students will develop written works and share them with club members. We will have fun writing different types of genres such as poetry, scripts, short stories, and more. At the end of the eight weeks, the club members will compile all of their pieces of writing and illustrations and publish a Thales magazine to share with the school. Don’t miss out on the chance to become a published author!
Scrapbooking Club Grades 2-5 Taught by Angela Perrin Do you love to create and express yourself? Then this is the club for you! During our time together, students will learn how to create memories through imagination, magazines, art, and so much more. Each week we will work on our scrapbooks with weekly themes. On the last day of the club, students will have the opportunity to present their scrapbooks to classmates! Scrapbooking is a GREAT way to make new friends, express yourself through art, and make things you can keep for a lifetime. We welcome all repeat scrapbookers to join us again to create a new book full of memories! Makerspace- Let’s Invent Grades 3-5 Taught by Abbey Bungay Do you like creative exploration, engineering, tinkering and inventing? Do you enjoy thinking "outside of the box"? Join us for this one of a kind club where we will have opportunities to discover, assemble, construct and share inventions created for use in our community. Ms Bungay will introduce you to some notable inventors whose creations made great impacts on our society. You will then have time to plan your invention, create and ultimately share with your school community. You don’t want to miss the chance to join our first TEK Makerspace Club!
