Bonkers for Books- Summer Fun! Grades K-1 Taught by Beth Cook Are you bonkers for good books? Then this is the club for you! Each week Mrs.Cook will share some of her favorite books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a STEM activity. Students will read some exciting titles such as, The Rainbow Fish, and create a cool, sparkly art piece, The Watermelon Seed, and practice our math skills with some yummy watermelon slices, and much more! Come read and create with Mrs. Cook! Summer STEAM Grades 1-3 Taught by Nirissa Barbour Get ready, get set, and get your STEAM on! Join Miss Barbour for this unique club as we delve into some amazing STEAM fun. During this club, we will challenge ourselves with summer-themed indoor and outdoor STEAM experiments, crafts, and games. We will be testing our building skills, running in obstacle races, building kites, and making various crafts. You do not want to miss out on exploring the science and art of these cool STEAM activities! Ready, Set, Go- Running Club Grades 2-5 Taught by Libby Blanton Do you love to run, get exercise and have fun outside? Then you need to join us for the amazing TEK Run Club! Each week we will warm up as a group and then challenge our running stamina, leading up to a Fun Run during our last session! In addition to running laps on the track, we will work on fitness through run related games, such as relay races and red light/green light. At the end of each meeting we record our laps and as we work towards reaching specific goals. We will even challenge ourselves to graph and record our running data as we work on some basic statistics. Come improve your running game and stretch your brain with some real life math! Minecraft EDU Club Grades 3-5 Taught by Brad Mauro Join Mr. Mauro in this exciting technology club where students will learn all about Minecraft EDU. This version of Minecraft is designed for education in a classroom setting and allows for fun, interactive lessons for students through playing the game of Minecraft. Mr. Mauro will have total control over students in the Minecraft world, and all lessons will be safe and educational. Creativity and teamwork will be emphasized. There will be new lessons this session that will cover a variety of subjects like language arts, science, history and culture, computer science, art and design, and math. Repeat students are welcome as well as girls!
