STEM Stories- Winter Fun! Grades K-1 Taught by Sara Hamilton Do you ever wonder why it snows, how animals stay warm in the Arctic, or if there is anything colder than ice? Join us and all the answers to these questions with Ms. Hamilton. Each week she will share some of her favorite Winter books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a craft project, a science project, or a yummy snack. This club will be a fun-filled way for your child to improve their reading confidence, vocabulary, creativity, and communication skills. Join us as we discover what makes winter wonderful!
Master Chef, Jr. Grades 1-3 Taught by Deedra Wilkerson Are you a junior chef who loves cooking up creations? Then this is the club for you! Each week we will make an exciting new recipe (no oven or stovetop will be used) as we build our own cookbook. Club members will even get to “review” the recipes after we taste them of course. Literature, writing, math, and science skills will be put to the test as students read recipes, measure ingredients, and help with the cooking. Come stir up some hands-on fun with us!
Scrapbooking Club Take 2 Grades3-5 Taught by Sanina Barber Do you love to create and express yourself? Then this is the club for you! During our time together, students will learn how to create memories through imagination, magazines, art, and so much more. Each week we will work on our scrap books with weekly themes. On the last day of the club, students will have the opportunity to present their scrapbooks to classmates! Scrapbooking is a GREAT way to make new friends, express yourself through art, and make things you can keep for a lifetime. We welcome all repeat scrapbookers to join us again to create a new book full of memories! * $12 extra supply fee (all students will bring home a hardcover scrapbook).
