We will be building parachutes to escape from a giant, engineering balloon powered cars to see who can win the race, testing catapults to see who can hit the target and much more! Join us as we read, explore and create through books and science!
Are you a junior foodie who loves making edible creations? Then this is the club for you! Each week we will make a new exciting edible treat along with a fun activity. Join us as we create frozen penguins, plant parfaits, minion mummies, tessellation brownies, fruit pizzas and more. Writing, math, and science skills will be practiced as students read recipes, measure ingredients, and help with the creating. Come create some hands-on foodie fun with us!
Fiber Arts Club
Kids, get ready to be innovative and creative! In this club students will explore, manipulate, and create pieces of artwork using various types of fiber including: weaving (paper and string), embroidery, and fabric collage. Weaving will take up the first 3 classes, embroidery two and fabric collage one. Along with each project, students will learn a little history behind each art form and how it remains alive in the world today. Come see how cool fiber arts can be!
In this hands-on club you will become a real scientist by putting science into action! Each week we will use simple recyclable materials and kitchen chemicals to explore basic scientific concepts in fun and exciting experiments. Our experiments and activities will include creating homemade bouncy balls, cooking Kool Aid rock candy, mixing up fizzy sherbet cups, concocting edible slime, and much more!
